Mac Tips
The Web Receipts Folder
This tip comes from Anne Costello from the Diablo Valley Macintosh User Group. You can quickly save any document or file you're viewing, by clicking Print, then click on PDF, then click on "Save PDF to Web Receipts Folder". It saves a PDF file with today's date as the name of the file, and then you can return to what you're doing. Great for saving those Amazon.com receipts or Home Banking receipts.
Screen Print Part of the Screen
To create a quick snapshot of something you're looking at on the screen, at any time, use the magic keys "SHIFT COMMAND 4". This will produce a crop symbol on yor screen that you can click/drag to outline a portion of your screen. It gets saved to your desktop as a file named, "Screen shot 2009-11-17 at 4.51.06 PM". It does use the PNG (Portable Network Graphics) format rather than .jpg, but you can easily change that with the Preview App.
